I purchased this car in July 2006 from the second owner with the goal of restoring it and selling it. I just finished the restoration and I'm torn about getting rid of it.
It really turned out GREAT and now it's time to sell. While I might get more money for this car in the Spring/Summer season, I have some other priorities and would like to go ahead and sell it.
Whether you wish to keep her as a dependable driver or restore her to show condition, this car is in great shape. I am only the third owner. I have replaced numerous parts on it to make it a nice and safe driving vehicle. I have lots of receipts from my work and also from the previous owner. Just a few things that I've done or replaced are:
New Holley carburetor
New power steering
New power brakes
Converted front to disc brakes
New 3-row radiator
New battery
New starter
New interior and seats (except the dash – has two small cracks)
New bumpers
New external chrome trim
New shocks
New drive shaft and u-joints
New 2 ½ inch exhaust with twin flow masters
New weatherstrip all the way around
New rear main seal
New rod and main bearings
New oil pan gasket
New ball joints
New paint
Transmission rebuilt with a shift kit
…….and there's more detail stuff also. Basically, the only thing I didn't do was get new wheels or a radio for it. It does have the original AM radio. I figured the next owner would like to customize this for their own taste.
I was told the original 302 was overhauled at 100,000 miles. It now has 142,000 and runs great. All gauges and electrical systems work!
No rust and the paint job turned out excellent. She's probably not show room quality yet, but could easily get there.
All original body and engine. She runs strong and smooth. Engine, transmission, suspension, tires all good. No A/C, but good heater. I live 40 miles North of San Diego, and I don't hesitate to drive this car into work. Has also made a trip to Phoenix with no problems. This car sounds FANTASTIC and always turns heads everywhere we go.
