Up for sale is my 86 Silverado that I have owned for 10 years. I am a GM and ASE certified master technician and all the restoration work, with the exception of the paint, was done by me personally. I know this truck inside and out and can answer any questions you may have about it. I am the shop foreman at a local Chevrolet dealer and the paint work was done in our body shop, so I was involved in the process, just didn't spray the paint on.

Ok, now for the details;

Engine: 350 engine, 270 Comp cam, Edelbrock Performer intake, cylinder heads from 1990 Caprice police car, high volume oil pump, ceramic coated headers w/ 2 1/2" exhaust through Summit turbo mufflers. Original engine was 305, but I pulled it in 1998, rebuilt the 350 that now resides in it, rebuilt the transmission and carb. at the same time. Engine and transmission have approx. 30,000 miles since rebuild. Transmission is 350 lock-up trans. Rear end is 2.73 gears, so it does fairly decent on hiway MPG. I drove it to Tupelo MS (500 miles round trip) the first weekend in May of 2007 and got 17.2 MPG running 65-70 with the a/c on. Not too bad! I also did a nice chrome dress up job under the hood just to top things off. The belt driven fan was removed and dual electric fans installed. This truck is not a race car and was never intended to be. It is my daily driver and is EXTREMELY dependable!

Interior: New GM dash pad, new carpet, new seat upholstery, factory gauges removed and Autometer Phantom white face gauges installed in their place. Speedo, fuel gauge and shift indicator as well as A/C control given matching white face treatment. AM/FM/CD player in dash with Infinity speakers in dash and Polk Audio monitors behind seat. All accessories (power windows, power locks, tilt wheel, cruise control, and A/C) are functional. A/C has been converted to R-134.

Exterior: Body was totally stripped to metal (NO RUST), all body side moldings shaved, drip rails shaved, cargo light removed, door handles, lock cylinder bezels, marker lamp bezels and tail light bezels blacked out. Body was disassembled, painted and reassembled. Lots of time was spent block sanding the bed to ensure a straight finish. All rubber on cab was replaced as well. Color is GM Dark Autumnwood metallic basecoat/clearcoat so it is easily matched in case of any mishaps. (I have the paint code from DuPont) Mild graphics were applied to front fenders with gold pinstripes going the rest of the way down the bed. Grille and headlight bezels are also new. Just had Rhinoliner sprayed in bed in April 2007.

Rolling stock: 15x10 Ion wheels with Firestone 275/60R-15 tires that have approx. 6,000 miles on them.

The only things I know of that need repair are; 1) The fuel sending units need to be replaced because it has dual tanks. When I painted it, I replaced the switching valve and the dash switch because it had been only running off the L/S tank up until then and the R/S unit has degraded and throws the dash gauge reading off. I just haven't repaired it because it doesn't bother me. I know when it's time to put fuel in. 2) Evidently the Autometer oil pressure sender operates opposite of the GM factory unit because when I put the gauges in, the oil pressure reads backwards, but this is easily fixable with a new Autometer sender ($20 or so). 3) the door check link on the driver's side is broken, but again, this is easily repaired.

I don't think you'll find a nicer, cleaner, daily driver type truck of this vintage anywhere dollar for dollar. I have a very reasonable reserve set. Obviously, the vehicle is sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. I would be willing to deliver within 300 miles. Call 251-680-3524
